Anna Osgoodby Life + Design :: NYC Food -- Burgers and tots at Bondurants on the Upper East Side

This burger might change the way you look at burgers. Yes, seriously. Chris and I discovered the Bondurants' Pimento Burger and let's just say our burger game has changed a little. Bondurants is an awesome neighborhood spot that features small batch bourbons, local distilleries, a draft list the rotates and some banging food.

Meet our new favorite burger on the Upper East Side in all of its pimento cheese, lettuce, pickled green tomato, hot sauce (this is key) and pretzel bun goodness.

The key things that set this burger apart with some southern flair are 3 things -- the hot sauce, pimento cheese and pickled green tomato. Combined together they give a nice kick to your mouth that compliments the burger perfectly. Add in the pretzel bun and you've got a seriously delicious burger. Just try it. You need to.

That's not all though. They make these tots.. that are unlike any tots you have had before. They are handcrafted and all sorts of delicious. They're bigger than what you are used to and once you take one bite dipped in their spicy ranch or ketchup you'll be hooked. We've been here a couple of times by now and vowed to try some of the other options on their shares menu, but we just can't get away from them! So tasty.

If you're a burger lover like I am it's worth the trip uptown (or down the street for me) to check them out. Eat up!

Friday Favs :: 2.20.15
NYC Living :: Friday Favs 2.20.15

I’m so thankful it’s Friday! After working 11 days in a row with my day job, I realllyyyy needed a weekend to slow down a little bit, and sleep in! So here’s a look at some of my favorites from the week!

  1. One of my favorite blogs to read Kelly in the City posted about this really cool one-second-a-day video her husband made over the last year and I really love the concept! It seems like such an awesome way to look back on your year day-by-day at the significant and maybe insignificant parts that sometimes get forgotten. Check out her post on the video and if you’re inspired to make your own, you can do so through the 1 Second Everyday app!
  2. The plunging temps in the city this week — including the wind chills of -20 last night — have turned the city into Elsa’s winter wonderland and the people aren’t the only ones freezing. Turns out the fountain in Bryant Park got a little bit of the icy treatment this week too.
  3. Okay, one more thing about the cold weather and then I swear I’m done ;-) The temps have been so low that there have been Snowy Owls spotted in the city! Owls that normally live in the arctic! Thanks "Siberian Express" air, NYC is colder than Antarctica and attracting arctic animals now. Now how do we get some penguins up here?!
  4. Want to feel really broke for a second? Check out these digs. This 1-bedroom Upper East Side apartment is renting out for more per month than most houses cost. For a pretty penny of 300k a month, you too can live in this 1200 square foot apartment penthouse at The Surrey
  5. Miss P has been on a tour of NYC since winning Best in Show earlier in the week in the city. She celebrated with some steak, met Michael Kors and even went to the top of the Empire State Building! I’d say the pup is having a good week!
The Blizzard of 2015

The Blizzard of 2015, the blizzard that didn’t quite end up being a blizzard in NYC. We only ended up getting a little over 6 inches and while it’s certainly a decent amount of snow, it’s not quite the 1-2 ft they were forecasting.

We did what we were told as good little New Yorkers and stocked up on some of the essentials..

One of the more exciting parts about the storm was packing this little fur ball across the city. I’m cat-sitting for my friend and I didn’t want to leave the kitty alone soooo we went for a little ride on transit before they shut it down!

Even though I’m kind of bummed we didn’t get as much snow as planned… We all made it out safe, warm and stocked up on some snacks. I’m totally still going to build a snowman on my balcony today too!
