The Waffle Dog Takes NYC at Kings of Kobe
Anna Osgoodby Life + Design : The Waffle Dog Takes NYC at Kings of Kobe

I have some serious noms for you on the blog today and today's feature does not disappoint! I'm talking about Kings of Kobe, Hell's Kitchen spot for hot dogs and home of the drumroll.... waffle dog! Say what?!?! After seeing this delicious delight featured on The Chew, I knew I had to head down to the spot and check them out over the weekend. After Chris and I checked out the menu online (with our mouths watering) we realized we not only had to try the waffle dog but also about everything else on the menu. So for the next 3 days Chris and I planned out the different combos of exactly we were going to order. #SoSerious

Finally the weekend had arrived and it was GO time! We ordered a total feast, including two of their hot dogs -- the Manhattanite and Sweet Munchies. As you can see these aren't just any dogs either.. The Manhattanite is topped with caramelized apples, frisee, shaved cheddar, wasabi aioli and the Sweet Munchies has cola soaked caramelized onions and cream cheese -- getting a little of that Seattle flavor! Not only were these totally unique, but the hot dogs are dang good just on their own.

Because I'm also 28 going on 6 we definitely had to order a side of their mac and cheese balls, which were delicious. Even more awesome? They came with garlic aioli. My cheesy and garlic dreams have combined! You know me too.. I'm all about awesome condiments that take foods to the next level.

And then... without further ado... there was.... the waffle dog! Which can we just talk about what a genius idea this is? After day-dreaming about this little treat all week it 100% lived up to all of my food dreams. To make this genius creation even better it comes with a spicy maple syrup dip. Holy noms!!! Guys, if you live in, around or anywhere near NYC, you need to get your butt over to Kings of Kobe and try their deliciousness for yourself!

3 of the Best WeWork Locations in NYC
Anna Osgoodby Life + Design :: 3 of the Best WeWork Locations in NYC

While I absolutely love working at home -- heyyy commuting from my bed to my desk is MUCH easier than battling people on the subway -- I do enjoy getting out once in awhile. You know, because while I love my trusty assistant Scoots, sometimes it's good to get in some of that human interaction thing. Luckily for me, NYC is full of other entrepreneurs and go-getters, which is one of my favorite things about the city. To go along with that, there are also some really awesome co-working spaces -- one of my favorites being WeWork.

Depending on where you live, you may already be familiar with WeWork (and if you aren’t yet, they’re quickly taking over the world in coworking spaces so you will probably soon). The company offers collaborative workspace that caters to freelancers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses and offers everything from shared common spaces, monthly dedicated desks, or small offices. They also have an amazing social network available to members worldwide which has been a game changer for my business. There's a number of membership options depending on what you're looking for and I found their We Membership was just what I was looking for. As I mentioned, I actually really like working from home but sometimes I just need a change of scenery.

With my We Membership, I'm able to have access to their network and also get one day of workspace included each month that I can use at any of their locations worldwide. And if I want additional work days? I can purchase additional credits to fit my needs. Since I'm not tied down to a specific location, I've had a lot of fun adventuring through the city and trying different spaces out. Right now there is 36 locations in New York City, but that number might jump tomorrow! I'm serious, these guys are really taking over the world. While I haven't made it to all 36 just yet, I've made it to quite a few and already have a few favorites. So here you go!

Grand Central

This location is one of my favorites for a few reasons. The location is really easy to get to from the Upper East Side and really just about anywhere.. it is Grand Central! The common space is also very large so there's plenty of space to work with others. They also have the most beer taps that I've seen at a location. Not a terrible thing to have after 5pm right?!

Chelsea HQ

Talking about big common spaces, Chelsea takes the cake on this one. Probably because it's the WeWork HQ location. Out of all of the locations, I've spent the most time at this location because I did a series of recording sessions for iHeartRadio and Work Radio and their recording studio is at this location. This location is also great because there are a lot of long tables and you're never too far from an outlet.

Charging Bull

This is my 'chill WeWork' location and is honestly one of my favorites because I really like the decor. The common spaces are a little smaller (and on two different levels) but there's a big couch that you can work from and the ping pong table is right next to it, which is fun. Like other locations, they also have little phone booths for you to take calls in which I recommend because this workspace is generally a little louder than others.

While these are definitely my 3 favorites so far, I can't wait each month to check out a new one(so far I've been a member for a little over a year). If you're a fellow entrepreneur or in town on business, I highly recommend checking out the WeWork NYC locations. I only have great things to say!

Apartment Tour Partayyy 🎉
Anna Osgoodby Life + Design :: NYC Home Tour Colorful & Stylish Upper East Side Apartment

This post is long overdue! I finally had a chance to take some shots of the new apartment (okay it's been 4 months..) and am excited to share! This is my 4th apartment in the city, and my first with Chris (other than the few months in the studio) so it's a bit of an eclectic blend between both of our things.

The Specs

Location: Upper East Side

Apt. Sq. Feet: Apx. 385 sq. feet

Outdoor Sq. Feet: Apx. 240 sq. feet

So living in NYC, they never tell you the square footage of apartments (unless they're new buildings) so it's always a bit of a mystery until I measure for my apartment tour posts. I have to say after moving in here, my guess was it came in around the 450 sq ft. range because it feels a lottt bigger than the studio, which was around 373 sq ft, but to our surprise it doesn't even break the 400 mark coming in at apx. 385 sq ft. Can I also take a moment to acknowledge I just said I thought 450 sq. ft. felt big?! 😂 You know you've lived in NYC too long when... haha.

I must admit, while we certainly could have made the studio work for a bit (if my landlord didn't sell the building), having the bedroom is pretty nice. I'm very much a night owl and work pretty late a lot of nights, so it has been nice to have the separation in the space. Plus, we can have two TVs out now too so I'm not tied to watching sports 99.9% of my evenings anymore.

Oh and btw, note on the pics -- my marquee sign has some blinking lights which is fun when you're in person, not so great for taking pics lol!

I really loved using washi tape to decorate the walls in the studio so I went at it again in the new place! This time around I went with a gold washi tape and went with a linear design to spice up those white walls a bit.

Chris had a few "must-haves" in the new apartment... Cue his Pearl Jam, the Iron Sheik, and Bob Dylan posters.. Sooo yeah those made it in. 😂

While most days we end up just eating on the couch, I wanted to create a little eating nook. I decided the perfect little spot to create one was on the wall in between the kitchen and living room so I bought a shelf from Ikea and wa-lah instant little eating bar!

Another thing that was a little tricky is we don't have many cabinets in the kitchen and we didn't have any drawers. So we bought a hutch and put up some open shelving to create some addition storage space and kind of a galley kitchen feel. I have a lotttt of glasses -- hey a girl needs cute glassware for girls nights right?! So this really helped maximize the space we have.

Okay, so total confession.. I've become a magnet hoarder. I've been picking up new ones whenever I got somewhere new and I've worked up quite the collection.

As you can see, our apartment is old -- Pre-War baby. So there's some older and kind of funky things. Yes, we have an electrical reader in our living room lol.. buttt that's what people on HGTV like to call 'character', right?!

As renters, obviously most are things we can't change but we still did some DIY projects to spruce the place up where we could! Like our bathroom! While it isn't anything to call home about, I did do a lot of work on it when we first moved in to get it up to my standards. Just call me handy Anna! I re-grouted and re-caulked the bathtub, which let's just say needed some love.

Our apartment is long and skinny so from north to south it's our bathroom, kitchen, living room, bedroom and then the backyard.

It's okay that our apartment is still under 400 sq ft. too because what reallyyyy MAKES this apartment and why I really really wanted it was because of its private backyard which comes in at a whopping 240 sq ft! Bringing us in at 385 sq ft inside and 240 sq ft outside for a nice 625 sq ft of living space when the weather is nice. Summer come back to me already!!

I put some serioussss sweat equity into the backyard to get it to look like this. Let's just say it was a bit of a fixer-upper but I'm sooo happy with how it turned out with some help from the Felicetta's! I'll share the before and afters on this one (along with the bathroom projects) on a future post to show some inexpensive projects you can take up as a renter.

All and all, we're really happy with the new place and the new location! Anddd being on the first floor instead of the 5th of a walk-up has totally changed my life #realtalk. Hope you've enjoyed checking out the new digs too!
