Celebrate Good Times, Come On!
For the last several months the planning has been in motion, dress fittings have taken place, the d.j. and photographers hired, and gift baskets put together. We’ve watched everything come together step-by-step at the office and the excitement had finally bubbled over. This weekend the special night had finally arrived to celebrate my boss and her husband renewing their vows as well as celebrating my boss’ 40th Birthday next month. The first time around, they didn’t get to have a formal gathering for friends and family and decided that this would be the perfect time to celebrate.
The guests started to arrive this week from all over the world (my boss grew up in Hong Kong) from China, California, Oregon, Florida, Texas, and the tri-state area. The party took place on the Bateaux New York, which is a glass boat that tours through the Hudson River and East River along the skyline. The ceremony took place at the bow of the boat and was a gorgeous candle-lit intimate setting. My boss looked gorgeous and their vows were very touching. It was such a joy to be apart of something that she has been so excited about since the spring. After the ceremony we headed inside the boat for a cocktail hour and hor d’oeuvres before the boat headed into the harbor.
Once the boat started moving, we had such an amazing view of the city. Unfortunately, photos at night don’t really give this city the justice it deserves, so it’s just something you’re going to have to take my word for, or better yet come and see in person!
Here’s a peak at the inside of the boat and the table-settings though! As well as the cake, which was delicious!
It was a really neat event too for everyone who flew in from all over the world too (some their first trips to NY) because you really got a beautiful look of the city and all of the bridges lit up.
It was also pretty cool because the boat went right by the Statue of Liberty pretty close too. Chris scored this photo.
All and all, such an amazing night! I’m so happy for Sam and Andre and feel so blessed to have them both in my life and to have been apart of their special evening :)
