Friday Favs :: 12.5.14

FRIDAY! It’s a big Friday over in my world.. My Oregon Ducks have a big game tonight and I’m really hoping for a win! Since I still have a few {several} hours until the big game though here’s a look at some of my favorites of the week!

  1. There are only 383 keys to Gramercy Park, but now you can get a look inside without having to leave your home. All thanks to one man who rented an Airbnb apartment with a key to the park. The park’s notorious secrecy and no photography allowed policies have now been broken.
  2. You’re going to be in the sandwich mood once you read Gothamist’s 13 recommendations for the best sandwiches in the city. I’m definitely going to have to add some of these spots to my next food destinations!
  3. New York is officially getting its first cat cafe named Meow Parlour. The cafe isn’t opening yet, but you can start reserving time slots this week to get your “fur fix” in. At only $4/hour, it’s a fun concept to play with some furry friends, who it should also be noted are all up for adoption.
  4. I’m so excited for this one! Parm, where I recently had the most amazing Thanksgiving dinner sandwich special — blog post to come, is coming uptown! Coming to the UWS soon!
  5. Move over High Line, there’s a new innovative park coming to town. If approved, Pier 55 will be floating out of the Hudson River in 2016.
Turkey, Friends and the Parade
Anna Osgoodby Life + Design :: Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade NYC

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving weekend! It was a lovely weekend over here and I got to do something I’ve always dreamed of.. going to the Macy’s Day Thanksgiving Parade! I figured it was about time for my 5th Thanksgiving in the city ;-)

So thankful that some of my friends were as excited to check it out as I was this year!

Not only did we get to see a line-up of the balloons before the parade, but there were also turkey hats..

I think my face says it all by how excited I was about it!

I was really excited to check out the parade because it’s really the one parade that even if you’re 40 people back you can still see the balloons because they’re so high up.

Seeing Spidey take over the whole street was AWESOMEEE!

Totally awesome and totally worth going to see!
