The Waffle Dog Takes NYC at Kings of Kobe
Anna Osgoodby Life + Design : The Waffle Dog Takes NYC at Kings of Kobe

I have some serious noms for you on the blog today and today's feature does not disappoint! I'm talking about Kings of Kobe, Hell's Kitchen spot for hot dogs and home of the drumroll.... waffle dog! Say what?!?! After seeing this delicious delight featured on The Chew, I knew I had to head down to the spot and check them out over the weekend. After Chris and I checked out the menu online (with our mouths watering) we realized we not only had to try the waffle dog but also about everything else on the menu. So for the next 3 days Chris and I planned out the different combos of exactly we were going to order. #SoSerious

Finally the weekend had arrived and it was GO time! We ordered a total feast, including two of their hot dogs -- the Manhattanite and Sweet Munchies. As you can see these aren't just any dogs either.. The Manhattanite is topped with caramelized apples, frisee, shaved cheddar, wasabi aioli and the Sweet Munchies has cola soaked caramelized onions and cream cheese -- getting a little of that Seattle flavor! Not only were these totally unique, but the hot dogs are dang good just on their own.

Because I'm also 28 going on 6 we definitely had to order a side of their mac and cheese balls, which were delicious. Even more awesome? They came with garlic aioli. My cheesy and garlic dreams have combined! You know me too.. I'm all about awesome condiments that take foods to the next level.

And then... without further ado... there was.... the waffle dog! Which can we just talk about what a genius idea this is? After day-dreaming about this little treat all week it 100% lived up to all of my food dreams. To make this genius creation even better it comes with a spicy maple syrup dip. Holy noms!!! Guys, if you live in, around or anywhere near NYC, you need to get your butt over to Kings of Kobe and try their deliciousness for yourself!

Anna Osgoodby Life + Design :: New York City's Sweetest New Dessert Bar :: Do Cookie Dough Confections

A cookie dough bar has arrived in NYC and people are losing their dang minds!! And for good reason too. The idea is a dream for your tastebuds! Introducing DŌ, or rather re-introducing to many of you because they have blown the heck up! They may have only been open for a few weeks but their press coverage has been insaneee. The video below that's been making the rounds on Facebook has over 40 million views alone!

The word on the new spot has spread so far and wide that I was in for a sweet surprise on my birthday from Little Duck, all the way from Oregon! Girl is up on her game! So up on her game, she made it in for a local delivery order before they had to shut it down due to demand!

I was so surprised to have these little cuties delivered to my door! And if you think I was excited.. you should have seen Chris' face when I made him wait a few minutes to snap a few pics

Little Duck picked out two signature flavors, their Signature Chocolate Chip and Confetti and they did not disappoint! Truly just as delicious as you'd expect! And no need to have any warnings from your parents like when you were growing up about eating raw cookie dough 😉 DO uses pasteurized eggs and heat treated flour. If you pick up a cartoon and decide you're in the mood to bake some cookies half way through you can do that too!

Such a sweet and delicious surprise and I cannot wait to go to their shop. If you're in the New York area you can check them out in Greenwich Village and if you're not you can order online!

Easy Entertaining :: 3 Simple Cocktails
Anna Osgoodby Life & Design : Easy Entertaining 3 Simple Cocktail Recipes

Woh hoh, New Year's Eve is here! When it comes to entertaining in the city, my motto is definitely the simpler the better. Hey now, have you seen my fridge?! It's mini-sized! So I'm always looking for simple options that don't require a ton of ingredients, because I don't have extra space! Plus, I'm totally the person who avoids a recipe if it calls for an ingredient I know I won't use for something else -- Again, that space thing! So to take the stress out of cocktails I've collected some of my favorites that are easy peasy to make and 4 ingredients or less!

Apple Cider Mimosas

This one was introduced to me by Chris' mom and I have to say it's one of my favs! While mimosas usually go hand-in-hand with brunch, I think this is a great option for all hours. Plus, the cinnamon and sugar rim is the perfect way to add a little sparkle for New Year's Eve!

Ingredients:

  • Champagne
  • Apple cider
  • Sugar/cinnamon mixed

Start by dipping the rims of your glasses in a little bit of water followed by the sugar cinnamon mix. Fill glasses up 50/50 with champagne and apple cider.

Strawberry Mint Lemonade Cocktail

Any time I'm having a big group of people over lemonade cocktails are my go-to. It's easy to batch the lemonade prior and then I like to keep the vodka separate so people can decide how much they want or if they want to keep it virgin.

Ingredients:

  • Lemonade (pre-batched or you can make your own)
  • Fresh Strawberries (Can also use blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries)
  • Mint
  • Vodka

If you're on a serious time-crunch, you can just pick up a couple of bottles of lemonade at the store for this one. It doesn't really matter because you're going to dress it up with sliced strawberries and sprigs of mint. Plop everything in a pitcher and refrigerate for an hour or so before serving. If you have the time, I like to do this the night before so that the flavors really brighten up the lemonade. Top with a shot of vodka and enjoy!

Cherry Moscow Mules

Moscow Mules have been one of my favs this fall and winter and they're so easy to make! This recipe is a simple twist off of the classic and adds a little holiday flavor.

Ingredients

  • Juice from 1/2 lime
  • 2 tsp cherry juice (can also top with cherries)
  • 2 oz. vodka
  • Top with ginger beer

Fill glass with ice, mix all ingredients and serve!

I may also have a theory that these cocktails taste even better when served in cute glasses 😉🍟 Cheers to that and cheers to a safe and fun New Year's Eve celebration!
