I have a confession. A confession of something I do that may be dorky or clever depending on how you look at it.. 

The truth is.. every time I see a contest with a prize to win a trip to New York, I always enter with my email and my mom’s home address. I’m online all day at work and I come across at least one contest a month with a prize including airfare, a hotel stay, and often tickets to a show or some event. I haven’t won yet.. but one of my friends recently won a trip to Mexico for a magazine so it doesn’t hurt to enter right?! Someone has to win these trips right?! So hopefully one day my luck will turn up and I will have won someone a free trip to come visit me! 

The month countdown has begun until I am back in the northwest! While I’m counting down until vacation (I need one!) I also just planned a couple of other trips to look forward to. 

Washington DC: I will be headed south the the home of the president, and the east-coast Washington, the weekend before I head home! I’ve been wanted to go check out the city for awhile so I am really looking forward to it. It’s only a 4 and half hour bus ride so I am really looking forward to it!

Philadelphia: I will be heading west to Pennsylvania at the end of September for another weekend of exploring on uncharted territory! Even better? Some bus companies offer $1 fares to cities close to NYC if you book far enough in advance, and SCORE I got a roundtrip ticket to Philly for $2.50 (there’s a 50 cent processing fee). Can’t beat that right? 

So I will have lots of new and fun adventures to keep you all updated of in the upcoming month or two. Can’t wait!

What is it like when President Obama comes to the city? In honor of another visit from Mr. Obama tonight, that must be at least trip 24 now, I decided to find out! Here is what I found! Listen up for FDR (Franklin D. Roosevelt Highway) and the 4,5,6 subway, those are close to me! The president also often has events up on the Upper East Side in my neighborhood so I’ve seen several of the motorcades around my apartment too! Enjoy :) Video Link
