Father's Day

Happy Father’s Day to my dad! It’s days like this that (come to think of it, always) I wish New York was WAY closer to home! I hope you have a fabulous day and I love you! :)

Feeling Expensive

As a follow-up to my blog post last night, today I read an article on MSNBC about a new study released today announcing the most expensive city in the world. And, I must say it made me feel a little better after signing my life savings to NYC for another year. In fact, NYC was number 33 this year. It’s still number 1 in the U.S., but let’s ignore that fact for a moment and be happy that it could be considered by some as a more “inexpensive” place to live. This may just be the public relations background in me coming out to shine, but let me roll with it. At least for the moment.

The study didn’t come out with specifics for numbers, but was based upon cost-of-living ratios and value of currencies. Here’s a look at this year’s list:

It Has Been Done...

I have officially signed my life over to the city of NYC and Sky Management. I put up a battle trying to get our rent decreased or possible renovations, but the fight availed us nothing better than their original deal.

The good news though is that I don’t have to move for another year and we don’t have to risk being homeless in the dead of the sticky east coast summer. So in the end we may have lost the battle, but we didn’t lose the fight!
