3 of the Best WeWork Locations in NYC
Anna Osgoodby Life + Design :: 3 of the Best WeWork Locations in NYC

While I absolutely love working at home -- heyyy commuting from my bed to my desk is MUCH easier than battling people on the subway -- I do enjoy getting out once in awhile. You know, because while I love my trusty assistant Scoots, sometimes it's good to get in some of that human interaction thing. Luckily for me, NYC is full of other entrepreneurs and go-getters, which is one of my favorite things about the city. To go along with that, there are also some really awesome co-working spaces -- one of my favorites being WeWork.

Depending on where you live, you may already be familiar with WeWork (and if you aren’t yet, they’re quickly taking over the world in coworking spaces so you will probably soon). The company offers collaborative workspace that caters to freelancers, entrepreneurs, and small businesses and offers everything from shared common spaces, monthly dedicated desks, or small offices. They also have an amazing social network available to members worldwide which has been a game changer for my business. There's a number of membership options depending on what you're looking for and I found their We Membership was just what I was looking for. As I mentioned, I actually really like working from home but sometimes I just need a change of scenery.

With my We Membership, I'm able to have access to their network and also get one day of workspace included each month that I can use at any of their locations worldwide. And if I want additional work days? I can purchase additional credits to fit my needs. Since I'm not tied down to a specific location, I've had a lot of fun adventuring through the city and trying different spaces out. Right now there is 36 locations in New York City, but that number might jump tomorrow! I'm serious, these guys are really taking over the world. While I haven't made it to all 36 just yet, I've made it to quite a few and already have a few favorites. So here you go!

Grand Central

This location is one of my favorites for a few reasons. The location is really easy to get to from the Upper East Side and really just about anywhere.. it is Grand Central! The common space is also very large so there's plenty of space to work with others. They also have the most beer taps that I've seen at a location. Not a terrible thing to have after 5pm right?!

Chelsea HQ

Talking about big common spaces, Chelsea takes the cake on this one. Probably because it's the WeWork HQ location. Out of all of the locations, I've spent the most time at this location because I did a series of recording sessions for iHeartRadio and Work Radio and their recording studio is at this location. This location is also great because there are a lot of long tables and you're never too far from an outlet.

Charging Bull

This is my 'chill WeWork' location and is honestly one of my favorites because I really like the decor. The common spaces are a little smaller (and on two different levels) but there's a big couch that you can work from and the ping pong table is right next to it, which is fun. Like other locations, they also have little phone booths for you to take calls in which I recommend because this workspace is generally a little louder than others.

While these are definitely my 3 favorites so far, I can't wait each month to check out a new one(so far I've been a member for a little over a year). If you're a fellow entrepreneur or in town on business, I highly recommend checking out the WeWork NYC locations. I only have great things to say!

West Coast Tour

If you caught my last blog post I've had some exciting changes in my life as of recent. Even better, I got to kick off my new life adventure with nearly a month on my favorite coast! It was so wonderful to be home to relax and regroup a little, all without having my departure looming over my head. Somehow the month still flewwww by but I did get some quality family time in, which I SO needed! Here are some of the highlights of my trip!

Portland

I kicked off my west coast tour in one of my favorite cities with some of my absolute favorite people -- the PERFECT combo!

It's always so much fun visiting Portland! I may have only lived there for a year, but it always brings back great memories.

Little Duck and I put our walking shoes on and had such a fun adventure! It's probably good we walked a lot too because we followed our amazing breakfast with donuts and cupcakes. #NoShame. Okay, well we saved the donuts for later, but hey, when in Portland enjoy the food!

After an awesome day. We united with our other lovely ladies and enjoyed a fun night out! We checked out a delicious little Italian spot in the Pearl District that was dishing up some seriously good bites and then we headed to the Nutcracker! The last time I had seen the Nutcracker, Little Duck probably wasn't even up to my shoulder in height, so you know it has been a LONG time! It was such a nice holiday treat and I'm so thankful that the Hardersens invited me to join them!

For our last day in the city, we visited my all-time favorite Portland spot, Pine State Biscuits! Nom, nom, nom! Followed by some shopping at some seriously cool home stores including City Home -- LOVED this place!

Enumclaw

After our amazing trip in Portland, we headed back north! My mom recently moved back to my hometown so it was so wonderful to break in the new digs! We hosted the whole fam for Christmas and it was a great time catching up with everyone!

We even got a little bit of a *White Christmas*! Barely, but enough to say we did ;-) After Christmas I worked quite a bit, which doesn't make for that exciting of blog posts buttt I did capture this work-from-home day with my dad! We have matching hats because we're cool like that.

Fast forward a little bit and Chris headed west for a visit. Almost as soon as he arrived, we headed up north to Vancouver B.C. for a little getaway.

Vancouver, B.C.

I've been wanting to visit Vancouver B.C. for awhile so we decided to finally make it happen! Surprisingly, even though it's only about 3 hours away, I'd never been so it was some new scenery for the both of us.

Normally I'd do a lot of research on visiting a new city, but for this trip we kind of winged it by just booking a hotel and some great suggestions from a friend.

If there's two takeaways I have from our visit.. it is that Vancouver people are some of the friendliest I've ever met and man is the city beautiful!

Seattle

Following our Vancouver trip, we also made a trip up to Seattle. Aww, love this city so much.

It may have been a little chilly, but the day was gorgeous so we hit up Alki Beach. I just love the views over there.. oh and the donuts weren't bad either!

We also checked out an Oregon Ducks bar for our bowl game. The bar was a lot of fun and it was awesome to see so many Ducks fans in Seattle. The game ended up being an epic bust though sooo we'll just skim over that fact!

And Back to Enumclaw!!

For the rest of my trip I mostly stayed local for some more family time and a few Seahawks games! Plus I got to be home for my mom's birthday (the first one since I was 18) soooo that was really nice too!

It was such a great trip, although still somehow not long enough! I think being home so long almost threw me off in a weird way! If plans had to get pushed around I was thinking, "oh no problem, we'll get together later" and then poof! Suddenly there wasn't time for later. So to those I didn't see, or see enough of. I'll be home again soon! :)

Snoozing with Brooklyn Bedding
Anna Osgoodby Life + Design :: Snoozing with Brooklyn Bedding

Guys, I got a new mattress! Not just any mattress either... A mattress from Brooklyn Bedding and spoiler alert, I LOVE it. So much so, I really just can't stop talking about it -- there have definitely been several Snapchats and texts sent out (you may have gotten one).

I've been thinking about getting a new mattress for quite some time, but let's be honest getting a new mattress in the city is kind of a drag. Plus, I didn't just want any mattress. I've never actually picked out my own mattress so I wanted to do that adult thing and make sure I did my research and found one that would be game changer -- I'm terrible at sleeping through the night. And hey, we spend a lot of our lives sleeping, it should be comfy! I did a lot of research but hadn't taken the plunge yet, so you can imagine how excited I was when Brooklyn Bedding reached out to me to see if I'd like to check out their mattresses. Cheyeahhh!

Anna Osgoodby Life + Design :: Snoozing with Brooklyn Bedding

Not only did Brooklyn Bedding have amazing reviews of their mattresses (they're rated #1 on Amazon) but I also found out that the beds are delivered in a box! Yes, a box how cool is that? Totallyyyy perfect for someone living in the city like me. Normally ordering a mattress involves picking one out, scheduling delivery service (which always seems to take longer than you'd like), and planning your day around the delivery. Not with Brooklyn Bedding though. You pick out your mattress and it ships free usually within 3-4 days! Cool right? So here's a look at how the process works because I know you're curious!

Anna Osgoodby Life + Design :: Snoozing with Brooklyn Bedding

The box arrived in my apartment building lobby and it took a little bit to get it up the stairs (dang you 5th floor walk-up) but was totally doable with 2 people. The mattress is made up of 3 different types of foams Talalay Latexm Dunlop Latex, and poly foam so there aren't any springs which allows it to be rolled up and into a box. Once you open the box the mattress looks like this!

Anna Osgoodby Life + Design :: Snoozing with Brooklyn Bedding

Once you pull the mattress out of the box it's super simple, all you have to do is put it on your box spring (or flat surface foundation) and unroll it out of its plastic wrapping.

Once it is laid flat you just cut the edges of the plastic casing and POOF the mattress starts to expand like a marshmallow. It was kind of the coolest thing ever.. not going to lie.

I have to say, I was a little surprised that the bed poofed out and into position so fast. I was thinking it might have a little bit of a curve or what not until it got settled but it was pretty instantaneous.

Anna Osgoodby Life + Design :: Snoozing with Brooklyn Bedding

Cue the part where I just laid on my new mattress for a good 30-45 mins in a lazy coma once I realized how comfy it was repeating "I love you new bed..." It was in that moment that I realized just what a good job they did picking out their hashtag #BestMattressEver. Because after that moment I had decided just that.

Eventually I did decide I needed to do the responsible grown up thing and put my sheets and comforter onto the bed.

So we've covered that the bed is super comfy anddd how cool the delivery process is, but there's also some other neat features worth mentioning!

  • Personalized Comfort Levels: Brooklyn Bedding isn't about that one-size-fits-all thing, which is why they have 3 different options -- Soft, medium, and firm (I went with the medium option)

  • Factory Direct and 100% Made in the U.S.: The business has been around sine 1995 so they aren't newbies to the market plus everything is made in the U.S.

  • 120 Night Trial: Not sure about getting a new mattress? Well, they offer a 120 night trial (which is longer than competitors in the market) so you can make sure your new mattress is just what you're looking for. Looking for something different? That's cool too, they'll pick it up free of charge so you don't really have anything to loose.

  • Financing Options: Mattresses are an investment and while you might want a new one your pesky budget might be getting in the way. Living in NYC I totally get it! Luckily they offer a financing option too so you can spread out some of the payments if you need to.

Anna Osgoodby Life + Design :: Snoozing with Brooklyn Bedding

And there you have it! If you couldn't tell already I'm definitely a huge fan of Brooklyn Bedding. They made the hassle of getting a new bed in the city totally smooth and holy comfiness. Boy, what a difference having an amazing mattress can make. My advice? Check them out, you won't regret it!
