Friday Favs :: 12.13.14
  1. The week started off with a royal start! The royal couple paid a visit to NYC early this week for a variety of charitable appearances, galas, and even some NYC sports action. They even stayed up in my neck of the woods, Upper East Side, holler!
  2. Have you heard about the Nutellasagna? Brooklyn’s Robicelli’s Bakery is behind this masterpiece including cannoli custard, nutella, hazelnuts, and chocolate all wedged between lasagna noodles topped with marshmallows. It’s dessert insanity at its best and it’s coming to Manhattan for free on Monday. Save yourself a trip out to Brooklyn and get all of it’s deliciousness in Manhattan.
  3. Day trips might not be the first thing that comes to mind in the winter in NYC, but just because its cold doesn’t mean it’s not a good time to get your adventure on! Glenwood NYC came up with a really great list of ideas for day trips that get you out of the city and enjoying that white fluffy winter stuff ;-)
  4. Move over Brooklyn, Queens is moving on up into the trendiest borough in the city! That is according to Lonely Planet’s 2015 Best in the U.S. list anyways!
  5. Calling all mustard fans! The french mustard brand Maille has officially opened its first U.S. location on the UWS complete with a “Mustard Sommelier”. This isn’t your normal condiment aisle you’ll find at the grocery store, that’s for sure!

FRIDAY! It’s a big Friday over in my world.. My Oregon Ducks have a big game tonight and I’m really hoping for a win! Since I still have a few {several} hours until the big game though here’s a look at some of my favorites of the week!

  1. There are only 383 keys to Gramercy Park, but now you can get a look inside without having to leave your home. All thanks to one man who rented an Airbnb apartment with a key to the park. The park’s notorious secrecy and no photography allowed policies have now been broken.
  2. You’re going to be in the sandwich mood once you read Gothamist’s 13 recommendations for the best sandwiches in the city. I’m definitely going to have to add some of these spots to my next food destinations!
  3. New York is officially getting its first cat cafe named Meow Parlour. The cafe isn’t opening yet, but you can start reserving time slots this week to get your “fur fix” in. At only $4/hour, it’s a fun concept to play with some furry friends, who it should also be noted are all up for adoption.
  4. I’m so excited for this one! Parm, where I recently had the most amazing Thanksgiving dinner sandwich special — blog post to come, is coming uptown! Coming to the UWS soon!
  5. Move over High Line, there’s a new innovative park coming to town. If approved, Pier 55 will be floating out of the Hudson River in 2016.
